Restful sleep has become one of the most overlooked aspects of human health. About one in three people struggle with it, and nearly half of Americans already use a wearable device to track their sleep every night. That growing awareness has made sleep monitoring the norm, turning the wrist and finger into common structures for all kinds of sleep tracking sensors.
Ironically, wearing a device while sleeping can interfere with what you’re trying to improve. A clock or ring increases physical awareness that makes it difficult to stay still, especially for someone who already has trouble falling asleep. Sleepal addresses that contradiction by embedding tracking technology into something that’s already in your nightstand: the bedside lamp.

That type of choice has a real design concept. Almost 70% of people already have a lamp next to the bed, and it is naturally tied to the rituals of sleeping and waking up. Building a sleep test that isn’t related to what you’re used to means that Sleepal enters the room without asking you anything. There are no new features, no additional devices to charge, nothing to get used to before switching off.

And organizing it is not easy. You install it, check the app with the app, and after that, there is nothing else you can control. No night changes, no calibrations, nothing to put on before bed. You go to sleep the way you used to and check your sleep report the next morning, which makes the whole experience feel seamless.
Behind that quiet, unhurried place is a powerful detection technology. Using a 60 GHz millimeter-wave radar with a detection accuracy of 0.1 mm, Sleepal takes subtle chest measurements from breathing and heartbeat. Those signals are combined with environmental data and are accompanied by an AI sleep model built from scratch with about 100 million parameters, which makes the picture of the state of sleep more complete and accurate.

And that technical foundation is backed up by real medical work. Sleepal has partnered with many hospitals to build the world’s largest radar-based sleep database, including more than 2,000 databases collected along with polysomnography testing. This medical-grade data base is a key source of its accuracy, and according to Sleepal test results, its accuracy in terms of sleep pattern is higher than most conventional clothing.

Because it works like a lamp, the light itself becomes part of how it supports your sleep. It adapts throughout the night, soothes as you sit and gently brightens as the morning approaches. In addition, it reads the environmental conditions of the room, captures the surrounding information that affects rest and gives you a complete picture of your night by combining physiological and environmental information.

The waking experience finds the same state of thought. When you set the time you want to set in the app, Sleepal doesn’t just ring at that time. It targets the natural waking window, which blocks out deep sleep and REM in favor of lighter stages. Turning the body causes the person to snooze, and if you turn again, the alarm goes off until it detects you’re out of bed.

Sleep is handled with such care. Guided breathing, meditation, and relaxation audio are all built in, giving you a drug-free way to relax before the tracking starts. Heck, for most people, better sleep doesn’t just come from accumulating more information; it comes from having tools that work to lower the wind, and Sleepal has a solid set of them.

One of the quietly impressive things about Sleepal is how much it hides. There’s no camera, and body control for key sensors adds to the intelligence, while advanced sensors sit behind a lamp that looks like it belongs. The design emphasizes comfort and tranquility over any clear statement of technology, making it easy to trust a personal space like the bedroom.
