Now Garmin has moved the Vivoactive 6 and Venu 4 (curr. $549 at Amazon) to a new round of updates. To reiterate, the company completed development of v16.xx last month with the release of Software Version 16.37. Although it didn’t confirm much at the time, Garmin has already released v17.16 in its Beta Program.
Normally, Garmin releases new updates for Vivoactive 6 and Venu 4 along with the same firmware for Venu X1. That fact has not proven that fact. However, we suspect that the Venu X1 will receive Beta 17.16 in the next day or so. Meanwhile, Beta 7.16 gives a glimpse of what to expect from the update once it hits the Venu X1.
For example, Vivoactive 6 and Venu 4 share a 24-line display with 19 error corrections. In addition, Vivoactive 6 has received support for turning on or off vibration for smart notifications. Meanwhile, Venu 4 has received 8 changes of its own. Both updates continue with Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM). One must manually install Beta 7.16 by navigating through the Main Menu to Settings, System, Software Update and then tapping ‘Check for Updates’ on a smartwatch registered with the Beta Program.
