Many people do not know that internet plans starting at $9.95 per month are available at their address. They just don’t know where to look. That’s what we built this for. ”

BEND, OR, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — FreeConnect Introduces Nationwide Address Comparison Tool to Help Millions of Americans Get Affordable Internet After End of ACP

FreeConnect (freeconnect.us), an authorized BBB internet reseller, has launched a free address-connect tool that helps low-income families across all 50 states find and sign up for affordable, high-speed internet plans – filling the gap left by the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which expires in June 2024.

An estimated 5 million American households lost Internet access when ACP subsidies expired, according to the nonprofit Human-IT. With no government facility nearby, millions of others continue to pay $30 or more a month more than they need.

“Most people don’t know that internet plans starting at $9.95 per month are available at their address,” said FreeConnect CEO Bud Torcom. “They don’t know where to look. This is exactly what we built.”

How It Works

The FreeConnect app compares plans from 25+ internet providers – including Spectrum, Xfinity, AT&T, Cox, Verizon, and Frontier – using a household’s specific street address, not just a zip code. The tool shows:

Every provider and plan is available in the right user zone

Low-cost plans like Cox Connect2Compete ($9.95/mo), Xfinity Internet Essentials ($14.95/mo), and Spectrum Internet Assist ($25/mo)

Federal Lifeline discount eligibility ($9.25/mo for eligible families)

State-level broadband programs, including California’s new LifeLine Home Broadband Pilot ($20-30/mo off)

FreeConnect’s bilingual (English and Spanish) team guides users through the entire registration process – from eligibility verification to service provider request to installation – at no cost to the customer.

Why Address Accuracy is Important

Unlike zip-code-based comparison sites, FreeConnect matches plans to a specific household address. Internet availability varies from block to block in many American cities, and lower programs have specific service areas. A family in one part of Cleveland can afford three affordable plans, while a family two miles away can only have one.

“We’ve seen families paying more than $40 a month because they didn’t know that a low-cost plan was available at their address,” the FreeConnect team said. “Our device fixes that in about 10 minutes.”

Post-ACP area

Since the ACP ended, the main low-cost network options include:

Lifeline Program – federal discount of $9.25/month (up to $34.25 in Tribal states) for families enrolled in SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, or similar programs

Low-cost ISP plans – provider-specific plans ranging from $9.95 to $30/month, each with different eligibility requirements

State network programs – California, New York, Oregon, Colorado, and Vermont have all started or expanded state-level network programs since the end of ACP.

FreeConnect enables users to navigate through all three tiers and combine multiple discounts where possible.
